Call for Evidence on Business and Human Rights

April 2009

From March – May 2009, the UK Joint Committee on Human Rights issued a Call for Evidence on Business and Human Rights [2 pages, 45kb]. This inquiry questioned:
  • the way businesses can affect human rights both positively and negatively;
  • how business activities engage the relative responsibilities of the UK Government and individual businesses;
  • and whether the existing UK regulatory, legal and voluntary framework provides adequate guidance and clarity to business, as well as adequate protection to individual rights.

The Institute for Human Rights and Business submitted its views [7 pages, 464kb] to the UK Joint Committee on Human Rights Inquiry on Business and Human Rights on April 30th 2009.
