Irene KhanMonday 22 February 2010, 6.30-8.30pm

The Institute for Human Rights and Business is hosting a discussion with Irene Khan, until recently secretary-general of Amnesty International, on Monday February 22 2010 from 6.30pm – 8.30pm.

During Irene Khan’s tenure at Amnesty International, the organisation embarked on a major initiative to work on economic, social and cultural rights, leading up to the Demand Dignity campaign, launched last year.

Khan has published an important book - The Unheard Truth in which she makes a strong case for protecting the rights of the poor.

Khan, who is a member of the advisory board of the Institute for Human Rights and Business, will speak about the key themes of her book, including the role of business, its responsibility, and its efforts and initiatives in this area. She will also talk about the challenges ahead.

This event is by invitation only. For more information, or to request an invitation, please contact Kate Timperley, Programmes Coordinator at the Institute for Human Rights and Business on or +44 203 411 4333.
